Solvent Orange 2
Solvent Orange 2 (C.I. 12100) is a cost-effective monoazo oil-soluble dye. Completely insoluble in water, it dissolves only in various oil-based solvents, forming a clear, sediment-free solution upon dilution. It offers a mild, non-glaring hue and is frequently blended with Solvent Yellow dyes and Solvent Black dyes to create earth tones such as terracotta and brownish-orange. With stable coloration at low-to-medium processing temperatures (up to 220°C) and low production costs, it ensures easy color control in mass production, making it a fundamental orange base for the budget coloring industry.
Basic Features
Coloring for Budget Daily Plastic Accessories
Ideal for low-cost transparent plastic parts like pen barrels, simple pendants, and storage cases. It remains haze-free and non-blooming during 220°C injection molding. Its warm, yellowish-orange hue effectively neutralizes the cheap look of plastics, making it perfect for high-volume budget plastic orders.
Standard Flexible Packaging Inks
Used for screen printing on PVC films, synthetic leather, and simple gift packaging. It serves as a smooth-flowing, non-clogging base orange. The prints resist color bleeding and migration when stacked, making it widely used for student stationery and standard soft furnishing packaging.
Hand-Wiping Colors for Small Wooden Crafts
Perfect for coloring wooden keychains, simple ornaments, and bookmarks. The highly transparent finish fully preserves the natural wood grain. It can be blended to create a vintage orange-brown wood aesthetic, and is also compatible with epoxy resin for composite wooden crafts.
Standard Craft Waxes & Light Oil Tracing
For coloring budget aromatherapy and journal sealing waxes, ensuring uniform low-temperature melt dispersion with no frosting upon cooling. It can also be added to light lubricants and fuels as an orange tracer for quick grade identification.
Budget DIY Oil-Based Care Products
Designed for budget highlighters, universal shoe polishes, basic leather restorers, and simple aluminum anodizing. Highly compatible with room-temperature DIY recoloring, it provides a sheer coating that enhances rather than masks the substrate’s original texture.
