Vat Blue 6 Chemical Property

Vat blue BC C.I. Vat Blue 6 is a blue powder, insoluble in water, slightly soluble in heat, chloroform, o-chlorophenol, and hot pyridine.

It turns brown in concentrated sulfuric acid and turns blue after dilution. After being reduced by alkaline reducing solution, it turns into a dark colored body with green light blue color, and when acid is added, it turns into red light blue color.

Vat Blue 6 Application

Vat Blue BC is used for dyeing cotton, viscose fibers, silk, and viscose fibers, as well as printing cotton fabrics, with good uniformity and affinity. It is also used for dyeing cotton and viscose blended fabrics, and for preparing organic pigments.
