Pigment blue 15:3 is insoluble in water, alcohol and hydrocarbons, soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid as olive solution, and precipitates blue suspension after dilution. Sodium phthalocyanine is formed by heating phthalonitrile in sodium pentanol medium at 125 ℃.
