Basic Blue BO C.I. basic blue 7 appearance is sparkling golden brown powder or shinning crystals. Basic blue BO is slightly soluble in cold water and highly soluble in ethanol and become blue color. It turns brownish yellow in concentrated sulfuric acid and turns yellow after dilution. It turns olive green in concentrated nitric acid. Its aqueous solution is reddish brown after adding sodium hydroxide.
