Acid red 27 is stable for citric acid and tartaric acid. It will turn dark red when exposed to alkali and fade easily when exposed to copper and iron. The aqueous solution is purple in color and slightly soluble in ethanol. Acid red 27 is used as a food colorant, medicine and cosmetics colorant.
