Sulphur Yellow GC appearance is yellowish brown powder. It is insoluble in water and brown yellow in sodium sulfide solution.

It is partially dissolved in concentrated sulfuric acid and produces yellow precipitate after dilution. Slightly discolored in alkaline sodium hypochlorite solution, all discolored in sodium hypochlorite, and turned to dark orange in concentrated sulfuric acid.
