Basic Rhodamine B Extra (Rhodamine B, C.I. Basic Violet 10, CAS 81-88-9) is a cationic oxanthracene fluorescent dye.
The following are its core properties and applications.
1. Core performance
-Chemical structure: 9- (2-carboxyphenyl) -3,6-bis (diethylamino) xanthene chloride, molecular formula C ₂₈ H ∝₁ ClN ₂ O ∝, molecular weight 479.02.
-Appearance: Bright green crystal or reddish purple powder, with strong blue red fluorescence in aqueous solution and red fluorescence in alcohol solution.
-Solubility: Easily soluble in water, ethanol, and fibrinogen; Slightly soluble in acetone and chloroform; Difficult to dissolve in hydrochloric acid/sodium hydroxide solution.
-Chemical characteristics: In concentrated sulfuric acid, it appears yellow brown with green fluorescence, and after dilution, it turns crimson → blue red → orange; Heating the aqueous solution with NaOH resulted in the precipitation of a rose red flocculent precipitate.
-Key indicators: maximum absorption wavelength of about 552nm, maximum fluorescence wavelength of about 610nm, thermal stability of about 210 ℃ decomposition.
1. Industrial dyeing: papermaking (wax paper, typing paper, glossy paper); Textiles (acrylic fiber, silk, hemp/wheat straw, leather, pH 2.5-5.5, color light stable); Ink, paint, lake (generated with phosphotungstomolybdic acid), colored glass, fireworks, Buddhist incense, seed coating.
2. Cosmetics: coloring products such as shower gel, shampoo, and hot water.
3. Scientific research analysis: biological fluorescence staining, cell labeling; Measurement of gold/gallium/mercury/antimony/thallium by photometric method, manganese/cobalt by fluorescence method, and cadmium by colorimetric method; Redox indicator, laser dye, tracer
4. Other: Mining/Steel Tracer;
