As of May 2026, the global chemical supply chain is facing an unprecedented crisis. Sulfur, a critical raw material for the production of Sulphur Black dyes, has seen its inventory plummet. Domestic port stocks have fallen to 1.08 million tons, a 50% year-on-year decrease, leaving less than three weeks of supply available.
Prices have skyrocketed, with sulfur quotes reaching 7,460 RMB/ton—a 195% increase compared to last year. This volatility is compounded by a 37% drop in first-quarter imports. Consequently, manufacturers of Sulfur Black are facing severe production pressure, leading to reduced capacity and a tighter market supply.
Cangzhou Xincheng Weiye is monitoring the situation closely to maintain production stability for our clients. We strive to minimize the impact of raw material fluctuations on our final product supply.
