1.Basic Information

* CAS number: 17372-87-1

* Dyes type: Acid Dyes

* Appearance: Red to dark red (or reddish brown) crystalline powder

* Solubility: Easy to dissolve in water, the aqueous solution is blue red with strong yellow green fluorescence; Also soluble in ethanol
2. Acid Red 87 Main features

Bright fluorescence: The color light is bright red, and the aqueous solution has obvious green fluorescence, making the color prominent.
Good water solubility: Very soluble in water, suitable for water-based systems (ink, water-based coatings).

chemical properties
When exposed to concentrated sulfuric acid, it turns yellow and dilutes to produce a red precipitate.
When dyeing, the color of copper and iron ions tends to turn blue and darken.
Good discharge ability, suitable for printing technology.
Generally weak fastness to sunlight and water washing on textiles, often used in non textile fields

Ink/Stationery (Main Use)

Red ink, red pencil, inkjet ink core coloring agent.

Textile dyeing

Dyeing wool, silk, and nylon produces a bright yellow red color.

Also used for carpet dyeing.

Biological staining

Commonly used HE staining (eosin hematoxylin) to stain the cytoplasm pink.
Adsorption indicator, fluorescence photometry reagent.

Others
Leather dyeing, paper coloring; Lead salts can be used as pigments.
Organic synthesis is used as a photocatalyst.
