The basic malachite green is green and has shinning crystals appearance. It is soluble in water and ethanol. The dye turns yellow in concentrated H2SO4 and turns dark orange after dilution. When NaOH is added into the aqueous solution, a green white precipitate is produced. If dyeing at high temperature (120 ℃), color and shade unchanged. The light resistance of acrylic acid dyeing is 4 ~ 5 grade.

Stability of malachite green

Application: it can be used as biological staining agent to dye cells or cell tissues into blue-green, which is convenient to study under the microscope. It is also used as a dye for silk, leather and paper.
